An official document containing the local Darkshore Moonrise ritual. Found amongst other parchments and documents in the Temple of Elune. It is written in an ancient darnassian dialect and has been since transcribed into modern darnassian. Auberdine has acquired an exact copy of the text which can be found in the Auberdine archives.

To aid in the celebrations and pay a respect to the village, the Temple of Elune has given Auberdine a simple silver bowl with the Moon goddess's crest embedded on it's sides. The silver bowl is handcrafted with the finest craftsmanship and should be handled with care and respect.

Preparations

The preparations can be performed by any elder or, preferably, by a Priestess of Elune. Any kaldorei that has an offering item shall put in a special offering bowl made out of wood. This bowl is to be taken to Onu after the Moonrise ritual.

The ritual begins with all kaldorei facing the Moon and the elder or Priestess raising their hands in the air with their palms facing up into the sky as they chants these words. All participants are much welcome to repeat the chant.

The chant

Hail to thee my Lady
Lunar goddess of the night

Brilliant eyes of pure moonlight in your graceful silver robes
Guide me wherever we may go in the night

Ancient and eternal you guide the fallen back into the light,
and let them rest in your eternal arms.

Lover of Malorne
Mother of Cenarius and the kaldorei
show me the way, in your lunar light.

And let me never fall from grace
Hail to thee lady Elune.

Blessings

As the chant is over the elder or Priestess will fill a silver bowl from the Moonwell. She shall dip her finger in the bowl and bless her brothers and sisters in the name of Elune by painting a crescent moon on their foreheads with the holy waters. The unused rest of the Moonwell waters shall return into the Moonwell.

Offerings to Onu

The ritual is done when the Moonrise assemble travels to the Grove of the Ancients to receive Onu's blessings as well. On their way it is common for the kaldorei sing songs of ancient times and hopes of the approaching age. A respected member of the kaldorei community will be carrying the wooden bowl as they make their way to. All shall assemble at the gazebo that leads from the Grove where the rest of the ritual is performed by Onu. Druids are welcome to perform their rituals with Onu in the honor of Cenarius.

Footnotes

A little side note is made on the bottom of the chant can also be sung to enhance the blessing of Elune.

The document has no original known author nor does the Temple of Elune in Darnassus know who wrote it. They estimate it dates back to just after the Sundering.
