The Darkshore Research and Purification Initiative was a Cenarion Circle initiative to research the taint of Darkshore.

Origins
The Initiative traces its roots back to a casual conversation in Moonglade between Iseri Swiftsong and Dennet Moonsong. Having met after a long time, they began talking about recent events in their lives. The discussion quickly drifted to how the world is being eaten by corruption and that it requires to be cleansed. Not soon after, Iseri explained she has been experimenting with the waters of Felwood for some time, especially their effect on Darkshore. In a twist of fate, Dennet pleaded for and obtained the allowance to lead a small fraction of druids from the Circle and set up actions at Darkshore. Such was the Initiative born.
The Early Days
Dennet Moonsong was given mandate over the researchers as well as a small hut which became known as "Dennet's hut" among the villagers. It did not take very long for the bunch to become intricately active in Auberdine's lifestyle and political scene, bringing strong Cenarion Circle presence to the port-town.
At first, the team was only consisted of Moonsong and Swiftsong. They were treated as guests to the village, a benign force. Soon, as the crew grew, the peoples of Auberdine began accepting the Initiative as part of their village, in the end integrating the druids into the townsfolk to some extent.
Current state
With the complete obliteration of Auberdine and massive damage done to Darkshore, the Initiative is currently suspended as a Cenarion organisation, its druids sent back to their previous field duties until the land may be stabilized well enough to resume the healing operations. Many "former" members have moved with most of the village refugees to a new settlement in Desolace, Karnum's Glade of the Cenarion Wildlands to support the local endeavor of restoring the desolate land, not unlike with Darkshore.
Effect on Darkshore
The Initiative was vital in several major events in Auberdine. For instance Vos' evil eye would not have been found if it hadn't been for Dennet's discovery of the Fadeleaf potion. Furthermore, their involvement in curing Sharandya. A vital shipment of hippogryph eggs would remain a Sandspear relic if not for the ingenious idea of the Initiative. It did earn some notoriety following the events with the Twig which arguably would not have happened had it been for the Initiative's presence to begin with.
All in all, the Initiative's endeavors were slowly bearing fruit; the immediate area around Auberdine was regrown into a lush forest not unlike the groves of Ashenvale and some of the local furbolg tribes became soothed and passive. If given sufficient time, the whole zone could have been restored to its former glory. Come the Second Sundering, the Initiative's deeds were finally reckoned by the Circle and put to use. The same mixture was used to fertilize the land around the newly-built settlement of Lor'Danel and partially cleanse the surrounding corruption around Onu's grove. A small part of the Blackwood tribe was freed from the corruption, though it remains a mystery why would the rest remain in their foul state.
