Dennet's house, sometimes known as "the hut" or "the outpost" served as the Darkshore Research and Purification Initiative's headquarters as well as Dennet's place of residence in Auberdine.
What is left of the hut, torn asunder in two, is located south-east of Fish Eye Tavern on a hill, overlooking the moonwell.
Even though the official document stated that the building was lent to and was being the outpost for Initiative, many if not all considered it permanently owned by Dennet, much to his annoyance. Branding the building his has become a sort of joke inside the Initiative.
Interior
Inside the hut, there were many samples that have been gathered from the farthest reaches of Darkshore and beyond. Failed experiments, successful ones, those in progress - all in neatly labeled vials. The sheer number was overwhelming to the first-time visitors. Colorful concoctions lined the shelves right under the celling. Many of them giving off an ever so subtle glow.
When entering, the sense of smell is was assaulted by a plethora of fragrances. Ranging from those soothing like grinned peacebloom to the more vicious ones such as deadnettle paste. A typical kaldorei took around ten minutes to get accustomed to the smell. Other races, especially dwarves, needed less.
Exterior
The house was made from standard Darkshoreian wood. After a few minor incidents, moonglass windows have been reinforced with protective roots from within, extended from nearby trees. The main door have been removed, instead replaced with thick strands of vines that hang from the arch. During winter, a druid could call for them to expand and grow, thus sealing the house from cold.
Outside, there was a small paddy field with different herbs and plants cultivated for further research. A bench was placed right next, so as to ease the process of gathering and let the resident rest. On top of the house sat a perch made out of various twigs, leaves and clamps of dirt. It belonged to Dennet's Green proto-drake hatchling, often seen curiously peeking down on the visitors from the roof.
Yalda - the phantasm of the hut
Obtaining the house was childishly easy. It has been surprisingly peculiar for the village to give away property so close to the moonwell. Apparently, the only reason the place was abandoned in the first place is because it is haunted.
A strange presence could be occasionally felt, as if there was a person standing right behind you, literally breathing on your neck. This uneasy feeling manifested itself seldom, yet never failed to scare whoever's on the receiving end. Most active members of the Initiative have grown accustomed to it, even deeming the ghost a sort of unofficial member.
The first plan was to have the being exorcised by a Priestess of Elune as soon as possible, yet since none were to spare by the Temple of the Moon, so nothing came out of it. With Xythil's arrival, the option to contact and speak to the ghost was rekindled.
After the Shattering, the phantasm manifested itself, drawn fully into the corporeal world by rage and vengeance. Yalda, as she calls herself, writhes around the torn remains of the hut, maiming any elemental or cultist foolish enough to come near. She, however, does not seem to react to kaldorei that try to salvage what they can from the village. On the contrary, Yalda can be seen protecting them from danger.
