Family feasts
Marriage
The finding of a mate is considered a celebration of finding, as in the Auberdinian tradition, a couple is considered to have been born compatible, and must simply find each other.
Preparation
In the Auberdinian tradition, any family oriented celebration (birth of a child and the finding of a mate) are considered solely the celebration of the woman. The child is considered the child of the woman, though through celebration, he or she is confirmed as their father's child.
The mother invites her own line (siblings, sisters' children, etc.) and must also invite the father (or male mate's) family as well as a sign of good will. Generally speaking, the order at which food is gathered for a feast starts a month before with kimchi being prepared. Then a week before, herbs and plants are gathered. Then lastly the meat, up to 2 days before (but no sooner).
The celebration lasts from one sunset to the next. If guest invited to the feast dies upon trying to arrive at the feast, the feast is postponed until the next new moon. After the burial and mourning has been done. (the beginning of the next month)
Seasonal feasts
Lunar Festival
The Lunar Festival is a time of celebration. The people of Azeroth celebrate their triumph of many thousands of years ago. It is also a time of remembrance for the valor and wisdom of that ancient age. It is a time of happiness, fortune and celebration, but it has a deeper motive as well.
Midsummer Fire Festival
The Midsummer Fire Festival is a celebration that happens around the time of summer solstice. Though it originated from human lands, it's quite popular amongst the kalimdor native. It's a celebration of life, fertility and harvest.
Amongst the population of Auberdine, it's mostly celebrated because it falls together with the mating season of many of the indigenous species.
