Common Motifs
Characters in fairy-tales often include former and current leaders, anthromorphs, important druids and sentinels. It is not uncommon for the tale to end in a gruesome death - usually of the villain.
Common Myths
The Owl's New Nest
A tale of an owl who sets out to find material for his new nest. He stumbles upon different plants which refuse his offers to give him themselves as building material. All of them, except for the stinging nettle, from which the owl makes his nest and ends up helplessly paralyzed and at the mercy of a bigger predator which graphically rips his insides at the final scene.
This story is taught to children as a cautionary tale of lacking knowledge of the forest as well as cautioning them of accepting gifts from strangers.
The Snake
Traditionally the snake had feet much akin to the crocolisk. Following the snakes' brutality against other animals, even when they were of no threat to them, Elune had punished them all by forever condemning them to crawl on their front side.
Though the idea of snakes previously having feet is not new to druids, this story is considered childish. Kaldorei adults agree that only he who committed a crime against others is liable to be punished.
The Sunset of Auberdine
A local Elunite story tells that when one looks into the sunset, they see their own fate. Though, that fate does also prevents them from fully understanding it as well - thus they are blinded by the sun.
The story has a simple well-documented moral - that fate is not to be understood and shows the paradoxical relationship between the kaldorei and their destinies.
The Story of the Twin Dryads
For full article, see: Story of the Twin Dryads
The story tells about Aessina and her twin sister Raessina, two dryads being sent by their father Cenarius to save the cities of Ameth'Aran and Bashal'Aran, respectively. Aessina was killed by a satyr in Ameth'Aran, but her sister Ressina survived. The former was buried in Ashenvale, her grave dubbed the Shrine of Aessina while the latter stayed in Darkshore. It is said that Ressina's spirit still watches over Darkshore to this day.
