Background
Childhood and life before Auberdine
Lanyra was born a rough 300 years ago, on the same day as her twin sister. She's the daughter of a kaldorei researcher and the sentinel assigned to guard him. She and her brother and sisters were raised by a small community near Nighthaven. Only having the barest of contact with her parents, whom due to their line of work weren't there during Lanyra's childhood. Something Lanyra especially blames her mother for.
Despite lacking the presence of their parents, she grew up in the warm care of the village outlet. Lanyra was an extravert happy child. Enjoying life to it's fullest and regulary playing in the great forests of Moonglade. Much in contrast with her twin sister Sehlis who was quiet and reclusive. But despite their differences, the two sisters were best of friends.
When they came of age, they were, as asked by their mother, send to the sentinels to be trained. But both lacked the ability and discipline to follow orders. From that time, Lanyra still has her preference for close combat and skill in martial weaponry. Lanyra ran away first, she sought out her brother Nardenar, who was progressing in his own druidic training at the time. While she was not allowed to be present in the lessons given to him by his own teacher, he still took the time to teach what he learned to her.
It was when her brother was sent to meet the bear spirit, that her druidic path trully started. Granted his blessing and form, Lanyra gained the ability to shift into a bear. The circle, uncertain what to do with her, stood for a dilemma, a dilemma that grew more urgent as they found out her sister had also received the blessing of the bear spirit. In the end, the twins were sent to the druid Dennet Moonsong in Auberdine for training.
Auberdine
Under the guidance of her teacher Dennet Moonsong, she took great leaps in the path of druidism, quickly receiving the blessing and shape of several animal spirits. Though her skills in healing and attunement to the dream suffered under it, receiving little attention from the young elf despite her teacher's wishes.
Disaster struck when she heard that a group of druids, including her older brother, sent to the Wailing Caverns had dissappeared. The news took it's toll on the twins, and Sehlis vanished from the world without a clue. Things took another turn for the worse when her youngest sister Xythil was sent to the temple to start her training as a priestress of Elune. Having no familly left she could seek support to, Lanyra went into a depression. The depression grew worse, when her shan'do Dennet entered the dream, only to remain stuck there as one of the unwaking. The last known sight of Lanyra at that time, was her standing on the harbour, waiting for the boat to Northrend. It wasnt untill months later she would return.
Post Northrend
What happened in Northrend remains a mystery for now, but Lanyra returned from there months later, accompanied by her Shan'do. Who had managed to escape the nightmare. Now she resides in Auberdine most of the time. Lanyra has changed after her time in Northrend. Gone are the loose linen, gone is her happy nature. She now wears a set of leather armor that only leaves her neck and head uncovered. The armor she wears is made of fur, leather, bone and metal. Most of the time she is seen having a neutral expression. Void of any feeling. Her weapon of choice, a black, wooden quarterstaff remains the same however.
However, this neutral expression will make way for a smile whenever her last, and younger sister Xythil is in sight. Who has returned from the temple due to an unfortunate incident. Though Lanyra doesnt seem to mind about this at all. She's also visibly more happy whenever she's talking to her Shan'do Dennet Moonsong.
With her teacher being send off by the circle. She tends to stay near or in a base of operations. Only leaving when she's ready to cleanse another tree of corruption or on a trip to Darnassus. Where she can stay up to weeks without giving a clear reason.
After the Shattering
Lanyra was present in the town of Auberdine when the cataclysm struck. She survived, but did not flee to Lor'Danel like the rest of the refugees, instead sticking to the area around Auberdine, recovering supplies and aiding refugees when possible. She occasionally visited the small refugee camp outside of the ruined town, but spent most time on her own.
Roughly a month after the second sundering Lanyra dragged the heavily injured Dennet Moonsong into the refugee camp, overseeing his care, and coming with him to Lor'Danel. Where the two promptly publicly announced their love to eachother, and became Mates. She has been aiding Lor'Danel efforts ever since.
Appearance
Lanyra is young, looking like a young adult. She prefers wearing a piece of leather armor that consists of leather, fur, bone and metal. Although on very rare occasions she might be spotted wearing a very revealing light purple dress, adorned with golden fining. She's has pronounced muscle tissue, while preserving a slender form, looking more like a sentinel than a druid. Her face structure is smooth, lacking hard lines or sharp angles. Long blue hair descends from her head down her shoulders, small twigs and autumn leaves often get caught into it. Her silverglowing eyes are slightly less vibrant than is common amongst night elves, though when she's excited they flash up, increasing in lumonisity.
