The commonly-used Moonheater in the Initiative Outpost

A moonheater is a standard kaldorei home appliance. It is used to heat water for various purposes.

Functionality

The apparatus works on a fairly simple basis. The moonglass lens that are held up by a handle focusing the moonlight reflecting off various surfaces, and the two moons themselves, into a cohered beam. This in turn heats whatever it's shining on. The temperature is fairly low when compared to such devices made by other races, so it takes more time to warm water enough for it to boil. However, it's also the safest at the same time.

Construction

A moonheater is a fairly simple construct - it's made of a wooden bowl with a small hole on the side. Said spot is carved in the outer shell and doesn't make the water leak. Its purpose is to serve as a resting handle for the little claw with the moonglass lens. The claw is easily detachable, making the moonheater serving a dual purpose.

There exists a mobile version of the moonheater, consisting only of the moonglass handle. The bottom is modified accordingly; instead of a stump, a small wooden claw reinforced with sap serves as a grapple for any object.

Trivia

  • Dennet's moonheater served many, many more purposes than a standard moonheater would allow for. So far, it's been a bowl, a mortar, an helmet, a shield and a blunt weapon. As expected, it's very worn.
