Notes of Interest
- Sharandya was gradually becoming more and more ill.
- It was caused by a satyr named Vos.
- The satyr was bashined and Sharandya turned out to be younger then expected.
Course of action
The first instances of Sharandya's illness appeared not long after her initial arrival at Auberdine. Sent here by the Cenarion Circle to aid the Darkshore Research Party, she was tasked to aid the druids in cleansing Darkshore of fel corruption. However, due to her poor health, she was restricted to alchemical support.
Soon, however, her condition worsened. Sharandya became sick, high fever and coughs, eventually losing her ability to walk. In the end, the woman became bed-bound under constant supervision by Iseri. Faced with threat of a fellow kaldorei dying, the elves sought a cure.
Possible cure
Three methods of cleansing were brought up - Iseri's gooish-purple mixture, physcial mending, and, in all else fails, a bath in moonwell waters.
Mid-way durning the effort, Sharandya's condition considerably worsened - neither Iseri's elixir nor did old-fashioned methods proved useful. With Whitebark's on the border between life and death, the elves splashed her with a bucket of holy water. Only then did the illness' showed it's true face. Sharandya's body became dark, her skin coaxed with some foul substance. Slowly, it melted down, crawling down to the floor and evaporating.
Aid of an ancient
In these dire straights, the elves met up with an ancient of lore - Onu.
The wise being, as the protector of forests and it's peoples, accepted the request. Asking the very soil itself, he scoured the land for corruption. In an odd subversion, there was not one beacon, but two.
The ancient led a group of kaldorei to the border of Ashenvale. Unable to support them both, Onu rooted himself near the road. His presence would aid the elves in need. Afterwards, they split up into two groups - one headed for the deep forest, other to the shore, near Zoram Strand.
The battle
The shade
In the deep forests of Ashenvale, the first group discovered a small band of satyrs taking part in some foul ritual. In the middle was a shady, half-tangible figure of Vos.
First to fall were the channelers and their demonic servants. After each one, the figure grew more material. As if their power was siphoned by the malevolent being. After the spell broke, a glowing specter of the Malign descended upon the group. At first, the battle seemed quite one-sided, in favour of the kaldorei. However, once enraged, the satyr gained tremendous power. Not only he flung his spells with extreme ease, his moves were perfect and deadly. After much truble, he was brought down again, only to rise in the final attampt to overpower the elves. Blinking into their strongest warrior, he sent her flying over the glade. Ironically, from the sheer force of impact, her blade penetrated Vos' chest. In an otherworldly howl, the figure collapsed upon itself.
