Life in Auberdine

Involvement with the Initiative

Dennet remained very active as the leader. Even though he refused to issue direct commands, his word was rather adhered to. Thanks to working together with many members, not only did the state of Darkshore get better, but also the town itself was relived of many aliments that plagued the villagers. Thanks to hard work, he became something of a well-respected figure and the unofficial elder of Auberdine.

He also took many apprentices under his wings while healing the tainted groves, most notable being the Delanin sisters — Lanyra and Sehlis. Sadly, the latter disappeared and has not been heard from since, probably meeting her demise during the Shattering. The former, however, remained by his side, intensively learning everything she could, probably out of her pain of loss.

Unwaking in the Emerald Dream

After about three months after setting in Auberdine, Dennet had to re-enter the Emerald Dream as a batch of reinforcements to defend the Eye of Ysera from a grand Nightmare assault. Unfortunately for the elf, he got stung by a stray nightmare vine. However, as it's hard for the waking to die in the Dream, he became tainted with the nightmare and thrown into a deeper layer of the plane of existence. It took many months for him to heal his own wounds. During that time, he managed to develop the early idea of the Nine Symbolic Strokes. After regaining composure, the druid was finally free to return to his mortal body.

The Second Sundering

Missing in action

Dennet was critically injured, presumably by Deathwing himself, during his flight from Moonglade to Auberdine to help defend the town from raging elemental forces. While flying in the skies above the forests of Darkshore, he was stroke by a bizarre wave of heat. Descending among the treetops, suddenly, a giant shadow swept above him, igniting not only his wings but also everything in its path. Dennet lost consciousness, falling headfirst into the ground.

Background

Childhood

The only child of a druid and a priestess, Dennet was born around 275 years ago at north-eastern Ashenvale, near Felwood's border. His early life, as he claims, was very carefree. He used to spend day running around the forests, paying visits to the dryads of Raynewood's Retreat. Together with his mother, they used to visit Astranaar from time to time for supplies. From early age he showed peculiar potential in druidism, and such he was raised as one by his father.

Even though not much time passed since then, Dennet often remembers his days during druidic training with his father. Even though forgiving, his father had his hands full of trouble with the child. Admitting it now, he was a little too carefree, reckless even. He would often ignore his lessons just to stroll around the familiar glades. Nevertheless, he showed talent in arts of healing, excelling at mending sometimes even mortal wounds with relative ease.

Dennet eventually became a full-fledged druid with proficiency in restoration magic. All that time, his wanderlust never waned. This provided numerous problems when, as an adept of the Cenarion Circle, he would often ignore lessons he himself deemed irrelevant. It was around this time he witnessed a group of Talon druids practising flight. From that day onward he wouldn't cease to dream about becoming one of them, to soar in the skies as free as they would. Reaching the appropriate skill and age, he slipped into the Emerald Dream.

The Third War

The druid woke up alongside others when Shan'do Malfurion Stormrage blew the Horn of Cenarius. During the war effort against the second invasion of the Burning Legion, Dennet's task limited themselves to healing the wounded often alongside priestesses of the moon. It was then he met Ranwel, taking care of the wounded wood-carver in Nighthaven alongside many other casualties. He never had the chance to see Archimonde closer than from a few miles away, hidden in the forest with the surviving refugees.

Following the destruction of Nordrassil, the kaldorei traveled around the world, sometimes by orders of the Circle, sometimes by his own accord. Finally, he settled at Moonglade and dedicated himself to becoming a Do. However, he never stopped venturing, albeit for shorter periods than before. Around this time Dennet swore and oath and joined the Moonsong clan.

Recently, having achieved most of what he desired up to this point, Dennet settled down at Auberdine, and by his own plead, was issued a base of operations from the Circle. Along with Iseri Swiftsong, the 'Darkshore Research Party' took up a new task to find a cure for the Fel poisoning that spreads from Felwood to the lands around.

Appearance

The first thing that strikes the eye when looking at this elf is his obvious druidic vocation. Dennet's hair look original, to say at least. Being mostly white, it reaches down almost to his belt, yet near the forehead area, one would think he was turning into a tree - the hairs there are sometimes clutched together, resembling leaves of sorts. Right behind the very pointy ears, two braids are woven, separating two locks, longer then the rest, reaching almost all the way down to the ground.

The braids are adorned by green feathers, one on each, coming probably from some kind of raven. On his neck hangs a necklace of tanned leather and 5 fangs tied at regular intervals (the accessory is clearly visible while Dennet assumes his Talon form). Lastly, his wrists support two over-exaggerated emerald-green bracelets. A more keen eye would spot draconic ornaments and druidic sigils.

He dresses in long, flowing clothes. Usually, that consists of a shirt that's a little to big for him, and baggy pants. A tabard showing his allegiances is lousily tossed over chest.

Dennet's face isn't worth much of a mention, aside from the fact it looks rather young and quite dirty. His brows, white by default, are mostly messy and unkept, nevertheless they are also quite more pointy than most of his kin has. His eyes are shining with vibrant and vivid golden glow, a clear lot brighter than your-average-kaldorei.

His body, under-developed and usually worn, holds well against all the hardships the young elf goes through. Despite this, when Dennet remains in his animal shapes, it's all the other way around. Not exactly the most imposing, even somewhat frail, the wild shapes he assumes look natural and healthy, druidic marks visible most of the time.

Personality

Dennet, during his time in Auberdine.

Dennet admits himself that he's often childishly carefree and a little bit reckless. There's a strong sense of wanderlust around this figure, but it seems to be waning since the creation of the Initiative. He will often daydream about many things, most notably adventures that he took part in, or desires to do so.

When paired with others of his kind, he tends to respect people by default, though it's not hard to lose his approval. However, he tends to behave a little bit overly protective of those younger than him, especially children or druidic adepts. When it comes to friends and family, Dennet treats people warmly, with very little inhibition. He's not beyond teasing when the subject's right. He's very protective and fond of his pets and animal companions.

The elf's a little bit of a workaholic in his own field of study. When busy over a remedy or salve, he's often dramatically different than his usual self. During those periods, Dennet's completely focused on his task, sometimes even ignoring those around him or babbling senselessly. A similar facet surfaces when there's a serious situation at hand. Most of the time, he will try to retain cool blood and act rationally, but still, is easily overwhelmed. After a little, he'll revert back to his day-to-day personality, but not without a hint of misery.

When it comes to other races, he deems most of them friendly to neutral for starters. He utmost respects the Shu'halo, as well as orcs under Thrall's lead. Even though they fascinate him, he has little patience for some of the more stereotypical gnomes or dwarves and recently lost most if not all respect for the humankind thanks to Varian Wrynn's actions. The elf deems the draenei valuable, if not the most trusted, allies.
